The Bible
What are your favorite books of the Bible, and why? I really enjoy reading Paul's letters to the churches, and Proverbs and Psalms. There's a lot of instruction to be found in the first two that I mentioned, and Psalms is so poetic. It varies from extreme sorrow to intense happiness.
Re: The Bible
Judges, Ruth, Jonah...probably many more.

Re: The Bible
You don't know "exactly why I like it," because it's not like you've ever asked. I like it because it's so deep. You have to really read it to understand, and then think on it for a while. Proverbs and Psalms are like that too. I really like Romans. It's a really interesting book.
They're ALL good, but...
I would have to say Gospel of John (of course), Acts, Romans... I don't really care for book of Revelation just because it's very hard to understand, and because it's hard to tell what they mean by all the "Having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns."
It's a little over my head.
It's a little over my head.
Re: The Bible
i think the ten crowns and ten horns represent ten rigions that will come about because of the one world government

Re: The Bible
I've heard that before. So many people read it in different ways though. I'm not saying it's a "bad" (none of them are bad) book, I just don't understand it. It's more a case against me then the book...

I'm surprised the Apple logo didn't give it away, lol. Of course, my name has nothing to do with Cars, computers or guns, so it's understandable....

Re: The Bible
I actually read the part of my Bible that the editors write in, the whole "about this Bible" kind of thing, and I learned that the King James version of the Bible had over 1611 scholars working on it and translating it. Isn't that cool? That's a lot of people, and they knew Greek and Hebrew fluently. ^^
Re: The Bible
Old KJV or New KJV? I still think that for overall practical study, NIV is the way to go. But some people want more literal and others want more understandable. So, that comes into play too.

Re: The Bible
New King James Version is supposed to be a better translation of its predecessor.
