What are your favorite books of the Bible, and why? I really enjoy reading Paul's letters to the churches, and Proverbs and Psalms. There's a lot of instruction to be found in the first two that I mentioned, and Psalms is so poetic. It varies from extreme sorrow to intense happiness.

I love this time of year! The snow (not in Georgia ~~), the decorations, the presents (of course) and the best part: Celebrating the birth of our Savior. The only thing I don't like about this time of year is the temperature. I like the heat, but that's cool (no pun intended). What do you guys have on your Christmas lists? What do you like the most about this time of year, and are you going anywhere to hang with family or friends?

I have reason to believe that the Mario brothers are forming a conspiracy. In every game they've been the heroes. I think all the glory has started to go to their heads. And furthermore, why don't they hurry up and marry their princesses? Peach and Daisy can't-and shouldn't-have to wait for them forever. Maybe Bowser is just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe he's not such a bad guy-he does love Peach after all-and Mario has just twisted lies of spiraling hatred and deceit to secure ...

     The bedroom is one of an average teenager. It is dark and the lights are out. It is quite messy.

     Next to the windows is a glass door. It apparently leads to the front yard. There is no handle, nor hinges on the door. It is nailed shut.

     It is raining outside. In one corner of the room is a mannequin with all sorts of half assembled garments covering it. The kid who lives in this room obviously has an interest in fashion.

"I am my neighbor's Bible;

He reads me when we meet;

Today he reads me in my home-

Tomorrow, in the street.

He may a relative or friend be;

Or slight acquaintance be;

He may not even know my name,

Yet he is reading me.

And pray, who is this neighbor,

Who reads me day by day,

To learn if I am living right,

And walking as I pray?

Oh, he is with me always,

To criticize or blame;

So worldly wise in his own eyes,

And "Sinner" is his name.

I looooooooooove The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The stories are so deep, and I always get spiritual revelations out of them. That may be just me, but one feels a renewed sense of purpose while watching the Fellowship discover their own callings. You get the feeling that the things that happen in the movies happen for a reason, and aren't just a coincidence. That's so true in reality as well. What do you like about the movies? What do you not like?

There are many interesting candidates running for next year's election. I'll be voting next year for the first time, and even if you aren't old enough to vote, you can still have an opinion. I'm leaning toward Fred Thompson as of right now because of his anti-gun-control beliefs, pro-life beliefs, and other conservative views that I share with him. I'm doing a report for school about the candidates for Election 08, and I started my research today. After over an hour and a half online, I got enough ...

The Folly Of Being Comforted

by William Butler Yeats

One that is ever kind said yesterday:

"Your well-beloved's hair has threads of grey,

And little shadows come about her eyes;

Time can but make it easier to be wise

Though now it seems impossible, and so

All that you need is patience."

I'm not really sure what to call this topic. But have you ever had this really strong feeling that you were sure was from the Holy Spirit? Or sensed something that you think the Holy Spirit let you feel? Or maybe spiritually connected dreams? I'm just asking since this is somethings I've dealt with before, but it's hard to talk with some people because they give you that weird look like you're taking something too seriously. I was just wondering who else get these kinds of feelings.

Most of us have heard that there's two kinds of love: family and friend kind of love and romantic love. Although I've heard many people say it, it doesn't really satisfy me intellectually. From a Christian standpoint, God is love (I'm assuming we agree on this, otherwise this part is up for discussion). But if there are two types of love, which is He? The Bible uses both examples of family love (God the Father) and romantic love (church being His bride) to describe God's love. So, perhaps ...

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far, away...Dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum dum...For you crazies out there who don't watch Star Wars, that was the theme music. Star Wars is really cool, and in my opinion a very clever story. The music's great, the special effects are superb, and (for the most part) the acting is pretty good. What do you love or hate about Star Wars?

I think my favorite out of all the Star Wars movies is the 2nd one, Attack of the Clones. That's when the acting is the ...

Hey, this has come up recently with a few acquaintances of mine. The song "American Idiot" by Green Day-- Anti-America or Anti-Media? I think Green Day's politics differ with most of ours, but that wouldn't change the message of the song. American Idiot seems to be Anti-Media to me, but I wanted to know if some of y'all thought differently and why.

I love Shakespeare. I've never read any of his plays, but I've seen them in action through motion picture. I've really liked every one I've seen, "As You Like It," "Much Ado About Nothing," and "Hamlet." If you've seen the movies or read the plays, what did you like about it? What didn't you like about it? I really like the music in all three movies, and the way things are worded and described is beautiful. What were your favorite part?

     I read that verse today during my devotional, and it got me thinking. We've all heard that verse before, but have we really considered what it means? I'm the type of person who trusts that God is able, but has a harder time trusting that God is willing. ...

Good Book. I had to read it for school this year. One of the deep themes that runs through Hard Times is the effect of parents upon their children. Most importantly, of course, is the Gradgrind family, and the effect the "Gradgrind system" of education has upon Louisa, Tom, and Sissy. But also interesting is the relationship between Mrs. Pegler and her son Josiah Bounderby.

What have you learned from Hard Times about child-rearing? What did Mr. Gradgrind do wrong when raising ...
